All cards are constructed of two pieces of paper, one is in the front side and the other in the backside. When a core is added, that means a thick sheet of additional paper is placed between these two pieces of the card paper. So the grey core paper comes out. It prevents light from shining through the card and revealing what is on the opposite side. The 260 gsm grey core paper is the industry standard card stock for custom card games and custom board games.
Grey core paper cards are the most economic and cheap than art paper, blue core paper, black core paper. Choosing grey core standard paper allows designers to add more cards per deck without driving up much price.
