Size of the Game Boards
For an accurate quote, customers need to provide us with the length, width and thickness of the game board in its unfolded state.
Based on this information, combined with the panel or fold of the game board, we will determine the size of the board in it’s folded formation.
Common Panel or Folds of Game Boards
Double panel – 1/2 fold game board.
Triple Panel - 1/3 fold game board.
Quad Panel – 1/4 fold game board.
Triple Double Panel -1/6 fold game board.
Thickness of the Game Boards
1mm, 1.5mm and 2mm are the most common thicknesses of the cardboard game boards.
For double-layer game boards, the thickness is higher, usually being 3mm to 5mm.
Finishes of the Game Boards
When choosing a board finish, you need to select a finish type, varnish or lamination, and a style gloss or matte. Gloss or matte is ultimately a creative choice, gloss adds a reflective shine, while matte adds a duller shine and smoother touch. And don’t forget, we can make them with linen finish!
Material and Printing
Cardboard mats and game boards are produced by applying printed paper to medium or high-density paperboard, then cut to certain size and shape. Based on your printing choice, we can wrap both sides of the game boards with your artwork, or one side with special black paper. Or, the cost-effective option, is gluing your design to one-side (one-sided printing) and leaving the cardboard backing exposed.
